Ramon Winterhalder

Ramon has been based in Milan since 2024, where his research focuses on the intersection of high-energy physics and machine learning. His work aims to enhance first-principles Monte-Carlo simulation methods by integrating data-driven techniques, with a particular emphasis on generative models for event generation. He is actively involved in the development of ML-assisted phase-space integration and importance sampling within the MadGraph ecosystem through the MadNIS framework, using normalizing flows to reduce numerical integration uncertainties and significantly improve unweighting efficiency.
Marco Zaro

Marco’s scientific activity is in the field of particle physics phenomenology, closely connected to the physics program of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. His research spans the development of automatic Monte-Carlo event generators, including higher-order QCD and electroweak corrections, as well as phenomenological studies of scattering processes at the LHC, with a particular focus on the top quark and Higgs boson. More recently, his work has expanded to include machine-learning techniques for event generation, exploring their integration with precision Monte-Carlo tools to improve efficiency and scalability while preserving theoretical accuracy.
