Underlying event and hadronization effects on inclusive jet cross sections for various jet radii

Jet cross sections will soon be measured by ATLAS with high experimental accuracy for a wide variety of jet radii. The biggest uncertainty in their interpretation is the non-perturbative corrections coming from underlying event and hadronization effects. In this project I will study these corrections and determine whether the uncertainties in them can be better quantified and/or reduced, by better understanding the correlations between different event generators, different parameter sets, and the data that the parameter sets are tuned to.
