The Manchester team involves members of the Herwig project based in Manchester and Cambridge. For more information about the Manchester team and its members see here.

Professor Seymour can supervise any project within Herwig, but is particularly interested in developments of:

  • the perturbative phases of event generation: hard process, parton shower evolution and the interface between the two;
  • underyling event and soft inclusive physics models,

as well as projects to validate or tune these components against data. Projects could also include more theoretical studies of the physics underlying parton shower evolution.

Projects could also be proposed related to Rivet implementation of experimental analyses of direct interest to the Manchester ATLAS physics group.
