Projects at Louvain could be projects based on MadGraph. A particular example of a potential project is as follows:

Constraining and understanding final state gluon splitting in to bbar

Production of b-bbar pair from gluon splitting is a proven background to many interesting final states (including Higgs searches/measurements). Its implementation in parton shower programs is subject to large uncertainties and needs improvements. As a starting point, a systematic comparison between fixed order results at LO and NLO, and LO and NLO + parton shower results for key processes (such as Wbb,Zbb, and tbb) will be perfomed, using the MC@NLO method and Herwig++/Pythia8 parton showers. Comparison with available published data will follow.
