The Durham team involves members of the Herwig++ and Sherpa projects based at the IPPP in Durham and the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge. For more information about the Durham team and its members see here
Projects at Durham focus on either incorporating new physics models into event generators, or studying the uses of our event generators for physics studies. We have expertise in many areas of event generator physics including leading and next-to-leading order matching, parton showers and BSM physics. Here are some examples of the types of project that can be undertaken at Durham:
- Studying the effects of Monte Carlo uncertainties for specific physics channels.
- Implementing matching procedures for new processes.
- Implementing new physics models.
