Four more years!
MCnet has recently started another four year funding period, through the award of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network grant, MCnetITN3. The short-term studentship programme has now restarted and is accepting applications to start from September 2017 onwards.

PhD opportunities
The network will host 11 PhD studentships. Many have now been filled, but information on the remaining positions can be obtained here.

The next network meeting will be held at KIT September 27th-19th 2017 aimed at all members of the network, but especially our students and postdocs.

MCnet is funded by Marie Curie Actions

The next network meeting will be held at CERN November 23rd-25th 2016 aimed at all members of the network, but especially our students and postdocs.

It will follow immediately after an employability training event on grant writing, aimed particularly at network students planning to submit Marie Curie Individual Fellowship applications, but open to all.

The LHC@home project was seeking a short-term student to work on the development of a web-based system that enables jobs on volunteer nodes, clusters and commercial clouds.

The next network meeting will be held at Karlsruhe October 7th-10th aimed at all members of the network, but especially our students and postdocs, incorporating our Mid-Term Review Meeting.

The last few places for the next MCnet school are available on a first-come first-served basis. It will be organised by the Manchester team in The Lake District August 24th-30th.

2013 School The 2013 Monte Carlo school will be held near Göttingen, August 5th to August 9th. Check the school page for up-to-date information.

Job openings: Several network positions are already filled, but there is one Fellowship available at CERN and PhD studentships at Durham, Göttingen, Lund and UCL. Note that the CERN position is targeted at people who expect to get their PhD during 2013.
UCL has a PhD position starting in October 2013. This will be joint theory and experiment (on the ATLAS experiment). More positions will be advertised soon.

MCnetITN, the continuation of MCnet, has been funded by the EU and started on January 1st 2013.

Our EU funding ended on December 31st 2010, but we still continue to work as a collaboration, producing publications and planning a school in IPMU Tokyo in the first week of September. Check back here for more details...

06/03/07 - Two three-year PhD studentships has been announced within MCnet. These are joint studentships where the student will stay half of the time in one institute and one half in another. One is in Karlsruhe and Durham and the other is in Durham and UCL.

05/09/06 - we will have a postdoc opening at CERN, starting January 2007 and another in Lund starting October 2007, each for two years. We will also have two joint studentships, one starting at Karlsruhe in October 2007, transferring to Durham in April 2009, the other starting in Durham in October 2007, transferring to University College London in April 2009. The usual Marie Curie eligibility criteria apply. All positions are open to nationals of non-member states. Women, nationals of new EU member states and residents of Less Favoured Regions of the EU are particularly encouraged.
